The Spirit of the Bunyip program area has been the recipient of environmental investment over recent years through both the Victorian and Australian Government.

The most recent investment under the ‘Caring for our Country’ program was funding for the Western Port Woodlands Project in 2009/10 which directed $500,000 to the protection and enhancement of woodland remnants on private land in the Western Port catchment.

It achieved over 130 hectares of remnant protected under land management agreements and a further 45 hectares of revegetation and enhancement works.
